  • Can we please get a summary of the changes to the companion system for mod 16. I saw the thread on enchantments and it mentions something about bonding runestones being able to work with augment companions. what other changes are there?

    With the removal of the idle companion 'tab,' all 150ish of my companions appear in my inventory. Bad bad bad idea! I do not know if there is another way to do this, but with the total revamp of the companion system, my empty inventory bags were now 66% full. Consider this in light of players who will be logging in with inventory and bank space already full. I do not know what will happen (overflow) and by how much if there is massive overflow?

    From what I'm hearing, companions no longer have offense/defense slots? Does that mean you can run any companion now and not suffer the price of x3 defense slots?
  • The 'Bolster' stat is not being calculated correctly. Instead of counting the 5 best companions in a category, it's counting the five FIRST companions in a category. And you can no longer discard Companions, and the companions are automatically ordered by rank, lowest to highest. So it's counting your white companions, then green, then blue, then purple, THEN gold... and stopping after 5.

    There is currently an issue with importing characters that is causing this. When it works how it should your companions will be in your companion tab and not in your inventory.

    I decided to test the removal of companions from the idle companion tab (which no longer seems to exist).
    At the very beginning of the load screen, my companions started cascading down as they said that my inventory was filling up with them. Unlike the first time, I did the following actions while the companion icons flashed down my screen. I opened a mail box and scrolled through it, I opened my character sheet and denied the free respec. Then I opened my inventory. Only one of my 150 companions were in my inventory. None were in my mailbox. They disappeared.

    Earth Archon equip bonus and text is missing.
    Siege master bonus at-will bonus rate is missing.
    Twigblight insight's equip bonus is +3.1 Null +1500 Accuracy.

    Will I be compensated for having spent monies on leveling up several companions to Legendary that are now practically worthless with the new mod?

  • I don't like the fact that a bunch of useful companion active bonuses are stacked on utility slot and there is only one. Plus the fact they're towards more damage and it's 'utility'. Shouldn't there be another utility slot ?
    A bunch of weapon damage % based equip powers either don't display the percentage, don't deal damage and don't scale with power/buffs and so on.

  • Have to say from an evening on preview, i'm reasonably happy (if confused) by most things i've encountered so far, although i've done nothing more than solo around Chult and a bit of the new campaign on my OP tank, so no actual challenging content yet. However there are two things that i'm currently hating about Mod 16. I'm not happy there has been yet another rank increase to enchants built in, but my main gripe is pretty much everything you've done to companions.
    I don't like the fact there is only one active companion, feels like i've wasted a lot of money getting 5 legendary ones. I don't like how the powers work, trying to select the active powers from all the many many companions I have is both confusing and annoying. I don't like the fact that they can only now be equipped with companion only gear but the slots don't tell you what gear is needed, I can only fill two spaces on my con artist, none of the other companion gear i have will go into the third slot, and and worse still rings don't count which we have all farmed for +5's or bought masterwork ones to do just that. Additionally I don't like the fact that you cant slot normal enchantments into the companion gear only runestones, again having taken the time and effort to get 6 rank 14's for my companion. The only enchants i had that would slot in were eldrich, which have no value and have to be traded in, but the only thing i can trade them for is more bonding runestones. Surely i don't want 6 more of them in the gear too - or do they stack up to 9 times now?

    nevermind. different classes (based upon role I imagine) have a different breakdown of types of powers.
    my bar dps has 2 offense and 2 defense
    my pal tank has 1 offense and 3 defense

    Equipping Adorable bites ring crash the game too, When I reload the game the ring are on my companion and if I try to remove it from my companion it crash the game.

    I dont see how to tell how many slots I still have open for new pets....(Idle slots) AND I do NOT see a way to dismiss or delete a Pet I no longer want.

    Is the bolstered stat only for the companion you have equipped or do we need 25 legendary companions?
    Also, does that mean that companion stats no longer increase with rarity? Or does that mean we need to rank up even more companions?
  • im just gnna guess its because you aint done with scaling and such, cos i just ran a cn and the adds were all like mini bosses, they still 1 hit you, they take almost to no damage and even worse stats were messed up. btw have a look at the artifacts, i thought u were making dailies and encounters feel more rewarding, well my comp does as much damage as my encounters right now and some artifacts are broken, they 1 shot everything.

  • Equipment slots are now universal meaning any piece of gear can go into any slot
    When I tried to re-equip my companion gear, the Icon of Adorable Licks could only be equipped on the middle and bottom slots, it did not appear as an option for the top slot.
    The Ring of Adorable Bites and the Girdle of the Striker I had were available for all three slots.

Apr 13, 2019  Hi! I hope you enjoy my companion insulting me throughout the video. I had a lot of fun editing this one. Want to look at all the companions? Here's Rainer's. Am I missing something? Since.I'M. not a DC will that slot not work for the companion??? That would seem odd, afterall if you ARE a cleric why would you need a cleric companion. Or is there another set of icons that either aren't class specific or are class specific to the companions??? And, if so are they available at some vendor that maybe I. You only get stats from 1 augment so buy the Ioun Stone of Allure from the zen market. With a coupon it's 1280 zen which is 179,200k AD at 1:140 ratio on XB1. The cat is 800k AD which is 5714 zen at 1:140. Huge waste of zen/ad. They're just about the same but the Stone has an Icon slot and the Cat has a belt slot.

For those who are new, or old alike, these tips might help you out in your starting out as an adventurer in Faerun! Welcome!

– Crafting consists of 5 professions. You use the N button to open it up, and you can be a master of all 5 professions on a character. You only get one active crafting slot until you are level 30 or level 3 in a profession and there are other requirements to unlock a total of 9 crafting slots.

– You can begin crafting at level 10!

Neverwinter icon slot

– Leadership crafting does not make anything. It helps you earn xp for your character and find items to help you out, like ingredients for other professions or health potions. The other 4 are self explanatory.

– Your character can be injured now. These injuries can be healed with a Minor Wounds Kit pre 30 and a Major Wounds kit post 30 (from what I can gather). You gain injuries from dying. They can also be healed being next to a campfire for 5 minutes per injury.

– You do not sustain injuries if another player raises you.

Astral diamonds…

– You will receive your astral diamonds when you enter the game. The total of diamonds you can obtain is pooled to all characters on your account ***UNTIL*** you claim some on that character. When you claim from the pool of diamonds you CANNOT share the diamonds among other characters.

There are ways around this, but you will lose some Astral Diamonds in the process.

– You can also sell Zen to buy astral diamonds.

– To get your astral diamonds, look at the top of your screen and look for the diamond icon, click it and that is how you transfer them to your character.

– The mailbox is a person. I think at the end of last beta it was called Postal Courier and added to the map. He is located near the auction house.

– When giving directions to someone, all the points of interests are numbered on the map and next to the numbers in the legend is the name of what you are looking for, and is, in most cases in alphabetical order (M to get to map) now the numbers will change depending on what quests you have going on… so telling someone to look for number 10 on the map, may not be effective as they are looking for number 11.

– Companions are awesome. When you get to level 16, you have to go BACK to SGT Knox, the journel may or may not update, but you need to talk with him to start the companion quest. You get a guardian and cleric companion later on so unless you truly need one or the other, I suggest you get something different.

– The companion quest gives you a choice between a rogue, guardian, cleric, wizard and wolf. Wolf and wizard are awesome.

– The companion vendor (one was at SGT Knox’s location the other is found in the (forgot bldg name) sold the Ghost and Falcon. Falcon rocks, Ghost sucked hardcore. Ghost just got one attack that hit just a little above other companions base attacks and that is it (ALL companions get 2 abilities except ghost) Save your Diamonds!!! No more companion vendor at Knox. You can use the Zen store that sells the Hawk and the Ghost for 2,000 Zen each (come on PW… come on).

– You can level up your companions and SELL THEM. Yes, fully equipped, leveled up companions can be boxed up and sold (need diamonds to box up).

– If you have 2 companions, while one is training up, you can pull the other one and continue adventuring.

– Save your money as much as you can. Don’t bother repairing until you get to your 20s. If you do this, you can get a mount at level 20 for 1 gold (or was it 10. mm) without any problems. Mounts are now 2 gold 50 silver…

– Team up!!! You get better loot, better xp and you clear areas much much faster. In game voice may or may not work, so your mileage may vary.

More Tips

– If you purchased Hero of the North and / or Guardian packs, then you will get all the character slots, combined astral diamonds, title, bag of holdings, and that is about it I think. As of the last beta you do NOT get the specialized companions, Drow race, Mounts or the extra clothing doodads. You do it get access to the Moonstone VIP lounge.

– The VIP lounge is found on the western edge of the city and is a teleport pad.

– GMs will be in game. They work in shifts. The Western support and Europe support. One will have GM in front of their name I believe and the other will have PW in their name. The two I met last beta were awesome, and they answered the same questions at least 100 times, and they were like machines, because they never became agitated, one word, professionals.

– The “Bounty” NPCs allow you to turn in specific loot items that might look like junk, for cool items. Some rewards are bonuses vs races (like +10% damage vs orcs for 30 minutes) or nice healing potions for your level.

– Campfires are all over the place here. Stay at one for a few moments and you get a temporary 15 minute buff (hopefully they extend this a bit) which helps with combat and regeneration of health and skill/power points. They give +1 to all stats now and last 15 minutes.

– Companions can be equipped with Runestone ( think it is that one..) and jewelry. Companions will vary on which jewelry they will be able to equip (some might take rings, others amulets).

– You can combine runestones and the equipment version of runestones. If you have 4 of the same “level” you can combine them for a better version of the item. Then 4 more of that type and level to make a better version of that item. I did 3 of them last beta and improved them 4 times (get’s tedious). The only stone NOT to upgrade its stats was the XP one. That might have been fixed , not sure.

– Lost? Overwhelmed by your quests? Not sure where to go? Hit the Z button and it lights up a path on where you are supposed to go…

Cleric Neverwinter Guide

– How to see your FPS in game? /showfps 1 and to turn it off, /showfps 0

– If you are trying to the skirmishes and the “events” but find that no mobs are spawning and it just is not working because it looks like it is finished… start a group, and make sure it is a full group, then queue for it, THIS tip will save you a ton of frustration.

Neverwinter Icon Slot

– Need Identification scrolls? The Astral Diamond Vendor sells them for 800 Diamonds a piece. Or other players may auction them off on the auction house, which ironically deals in Diamonds.

Neverwinter Cleric Companion

– Need some Astral Diamonds, or just some nice short term buffs or healing potions? Pray to your god every hour by pressing CTL + I while near a campfire. Must have done the quest at level 7.

Neverwinter Cleric Build

– To collect your Founder’s Title and the Bag of Holding you must go see the Founder’s Vendor directly west of SGT Knox on the opposite end of the map.
